Your Warrior Band Booster Board!

This is my second year being a proud Band Mom! My son plays Bass in percussion, and his favorite thing about being in the band is the competition performances.  And to be honest, those are mine too.  It’s such a joy to see where the kids start in August, versus where they end at State. 

This is my first year on the board.  I am a proud parent of two.  Both of which are band students. My daughter, Hannah is a junior and plays the flute in marching band and concert band.  My son, Kyle is an 8th grader and plays the trombone and the baritone for the marching band.  I am a store/general manager for QuikTrip(QT). I have managed for 14 years.  Also, I am an assistant coach for the Junior Checkers 14u ice hockey team.  Since joining the boosters, over the past two years.  I have volunteered in numerous tasks and several events, including CWEA.  But primarily I have volunteered as our Levy Lead at Bank of America Stadium.  I have utilized my extensive knowledge of customer service, food service, training, and management to lead many successful fundraising events.  My philosophy and focus has revolved around a "long term" thought process.  My goal is to set up effective processes and ensure financial stability long term. Not just for the time my own kids are in the band program but for many years to follow.  I am looking forward to new ideas and new faces.  See you all at the next meeting or LEVY event!

This is my 5th year with the Indian Land Band Boosters! I have a senior, Owen, in percussion and a freshman, Joshua, on tuba. I marched trumpet in high school and have loved reliving those memories through my boys. I’m passionate about this program and have had the privilege to be involved in show design and leading the Pit Crew for the past several years. I also served as the Booster Treasurer for the 22/23 and 23/24 school years.

This is my second year as a band parent and I am still amazed at the marching band world! These kids and directors work so incredibly hard and I’m glad to support them (mostly by feeding them!). My son is a sophomore trombone/baritone player and it’s been wonderful to see his growth both as a musician, but also in responsibility and leadership. My favorite part of serving is the relationships I’m developing with the other awesome band parents and the students. Three kids and a dog call me mom and I also work at a local dentist office as a hygienist. My musical background is in piano, so it’s a fun contrast watching the inner workings of a large ensemble!

This is my third year as a band parent and my second year serving as treasurer on the Band Booster Board. For the past three years my husband, Scott, and I have  helped with the Pit Crew to get the props and instruments on and off the field, both at home games and competitions. While I am not musically inclined in the least bit, both of my kids kick brass. My son, Jacob, is a junior who plays mellophone in the marching band and trumpet in the jazz band. My youngest, Alex, plays tuba in the Indian Land Intermediate School band. When I'm not writing checks and making deposits for the band, I can be found in my classroom at the intermediate school teaching science. Volunteering for the band has given me the opportunity to form new friendships with band parents while supporting an amazing group of young musicians. I'm looking forward to a wonderful season.
